Korea's own rocket puts 15 satellites into orbit
On October 7, Korea's homegrown Nuri rocket placed all 15 satellites it carried into their target orbits, the most it has ever launched at once. Five are small satellites built to watch over the Korean Peninsula. It is Nuri's fourth successful launch in a row since 2022. Source: SBS News
Happy Hangul Day: 100 years of celebrating the Korean alphabet
October 9 is Hangul Day, honoring the 24-letter alphabet created under King Sejong. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the day, and Seoul is celebrating at Gwanghwamun Square through October 17 with concerts, exhibitions, and nightly light shows on the Gwanghwamun walls.
